I'm just like any of the other do-it-yourselfers out there in the world. I have over twenty years experience working with electronics, electricity, hydraulics and pneumatics. This includes thirteen years of military experience and seven years of industrial maintenance as a multi-craft technician. About a year and a half ago, I transferred out of the Maintenance Department and into Production. This means I still have a real job and I still work rotating 12 hour shifts, which are actually closer to 14 hours. Some of my days off are now partially occupied by meetings and training, but I still make time for top motors. I take pride in my work, both in quality and speed. I know that when I pay for something, I want a quality product and I don't want to wait forever for it to arrive. I'm willing to bet most people feel the same way. It's the way I try to treat all my customers. Check my ebay feedback. I think it speaks for itself. Currently over 500 and 100% positive.
When all is said and done there should be ten (or more if I need them) web site pages. Several will be for showing different styles of top motors, a brief description of operation, common failure symptoms and typical repair costs. I don't know every year and model car which used each style motor, but I plan to include photos of each top motor and each electrical connector to assist customers with finding a perfect match.
I'll try to provide what ever technical assistance I can to anyone who asks. You don't need to buy something from me to get my help. If you have a question about your convertible top just email me and I'll respond as soon as I can. Please keep in mind that I do have a real job and can't always provide immediate answers. I get dozens of emails everyday and sometimes a few fall through the cracks.
One of my secondary goals is to reduce the number of repetitive emails which overload me due to answering the same questions for many different people. I'm currently developing a Frequently Asked Questions page and will be adding more questions/answers as time permits. In the meantime, if your question is not covered in the FAQ or you need more detail please email me.
